Landscape with Pavilions Seed Stitch Suzhou Embroidery Hanging Scroll 山水亭台打籽绣苏绣挂画
57*34*2.5cm ,Golden Teak
This hanging artwork is inspired by the traditional Qing dynasty "wanxiu" sleeve embroidery form, crafted using dazi (seed stitch), one of the most labor-intensive techniques in the national intangible cultural heritage of Su Embroidery. Created by a master embroiderer with 30 years of experience, it took over three months to complete entirely by hand. Set against a deep black silk satin background, over 150 tiny "seeds" of twisted silk thread are meticulously arranged per square centimeter, transforming pavilions, terraces, mountains, clouds, and trees into a miniature landscape. Each seed is formed by looping the thread around the needle, creating pearl-like texture that gives the scene both depth and a subtle sheen. Viewed from afar, it evokes the elegance of ancient Chinese landscape paintings; up close, the tactile richness of the stitches reveals the artisan’s precision. Dazi stitch is known for its durability and timeless beauty, making each piece a unique, heirloom-quality work of art that embodies the spirit of traditional Chinese craftsmanship.
