This hanging artwork is adapted from Qing dynasty four-season flower sleeve embroidery, crafted using the classic flat stitch technique of Su Embroidery by a master artisan over two months. Set against a pale silk satin background, plum blossoms, orchids, peonies, and magnolias are arranged in sequence. Using dozens of graduated shades of mulberry silk thread, the artisan employs "taozhen" (layered stitch) and "yunzhen" (gradient stitch) techniques to capture the translucency of petals and the rugged texture of branches. Each petal’s color transition requires repeated layering of different thread tones, from three to eight layers, to achieve the soft gradient effect reminiscent of traditional Chinese paintings. The piece revives the elegant "huaxiu" (painting-embroidery) style of the Qing era, with a soft yet rich color palette and stitches fine as hair, embodying the core virtues of Su Embroidery: harmony, smoothness, luster, and uniformity. It captures the vibrancy of spring blooms in a collectible heritage work of art.
