Crane & Floral Plain Stitch Suzhou Embroidery Wall Hanging 仙鹤花卉平针绣苏绣挂画
63*38*2.5cm ,Golden Teak
This hanging artwork reimagines crane and flower motifs from Qing dynasty sleeve embroidery, crafted primarily with flat stitch, supplemented with blended stitch, by a master artisan over two and a half months. Set against a deep black silk satin background, the crane’s wings are rendered with dozens of shades of gray and white silk thread using layered stitches, capturing the texture of down and flight feathers with precise, varied-length needlework. The peonies and lotus flowers are softly shaded with pink, purple, and red threads, their translucency achieved through multiple layers of stitching. The piece evokes the serene elegance of Qing dynasty "bird-and-flower embroidery," with graceful cranes and vibrant yet refined blooms. The stitches are fine as hair, embodying the core principles of Su Embroidery: evenness, luster, neatness, and uniformity. It is a collectible work that blends Eastern Zen aesthetics with auspicious symbolism.
